Programming MSP430FG4617 using ez430???

hi everybody,

actually i have the msp430fg4617 microcontroller, but i dont know if i can program it with the ez430 usb programmer connecting the spy-by-wire interface to the msp430fg4617 pins.

So, if that is possible, where do i need to connect that pins of the interface in the microcontroller?

but if that is not possible, where can i found the schematic for jtag circuit for this micro. are the jtag schematics in TI.com the option in order to make my own programmer.?

thanks in advance.

AFAIK, it doesn’t have Spy Bi-Wire programming. You’d be better off buying one of the Olimex JTAG interfaces, at their prices it isn’t worth building your own. The MSP-JTAG-TINY supports both JTAG and Spy Bi-Wire.

ok… thanks leon, but i prefer make my own. i dont know, i think , i can make this cheaper than the olimex or any… hehe. but looking for a schematic in internet. i found many, and i dont know what is better.

could somebody tell me a site or link where i can find one?

so. i have another question… what can i do with my ez430? just programming the 430f2xxx?

kayashi.

Search for Lothar Stolz, he has an ICD 2 design you could use. I built one based on his design with an RS-232 interface, it works but is rather slow.

I made my own target board for the eZ430 interface, with an 'F2013. The connectors are difficult to obtain, I got some free samples.

thanks again Leon.

i dunno what to do now, but thanks, i think, i’ll my own jtag programmer by parallel interface, just like the cheaper on olimex site.

see ya… regards from colombia ^-^
