Proper casing for an outdoor arduino project

hello everyone ,

may you help me find or create a good design of a casing that contains the ff:

1pc arduino uno

1pc relay card module (link) -----> http://www.e-gizmo.com/KIT/relay%20card.html

1pc long distance IR detector module (link) ----->http://www.e-gizmo.com/KIT/Long%20range … ensor.html

  • it will be placed in the outside my house

  • the system will detect human presence and turn on a siren and a light

(led pin light with 28V 7W rating, siren with 12V 1A)

  • it will be exposed to sunlight, probably under 35 degrees temperature

  • it must operate 24/7 , no turning off

i am considering what type of material must the case be made of, the need for ventilation, heat sink, etc . (feel free to add more)

thanks in advance guys !

I have been using [these for a while now. They will hold a couple board of Arduino size horizontally and have enough room to stack boards two deep also. You may need to make a subpanel for the boards to sit on since it’s unlikely the holes will line up. Home Depot has 12" square polycarbonate panels in their window department that are cheap and perfect for this purpose. Alternately, you can use adhesive board mounts.

[Here is an example of the enclosure in use (not a good pic of the internals though).](http://www.cedarlakeinstruments.com/products/products.php)](http://www.polycase.com/wc-24f)
