hi, i’m really a beginner in arduino world, i just wanted to ask if it’s possible, for an art installation that i would like to make, to install a proximity sensor at the end of a corridor about 4 or 5 meters long. When one or more people approach, the sensor should send the proximity value to my music software (Ableton live): Ableton has already a plugin to get data from arduino
Can this be achieved with:
-SparkFun Qwiic Cable Kit
-SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic
-Garmin LIDAR-Lite v4 LED - Distance Measurement Sensor
those are the products I’ve added to the cart, I need something more? Is it difficult to program?
Hello, SparkFun Qwiic Cable Kit: This kit includes various cables for connecting Qwiic-enabled components. It will be useful for connecting the RedBoard and the proximity sensor.
SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic: This is an Arduino-compatible board with built-in Qwiic connectors, which simplifies the wiring process.
Garmin LIDAR-Lite v4 LED: This sensor is capable of measuring distances and can be used as a proximity sensor in your installation.
To complete your setup, you will also need:
Power source: Make sure to provide power to the RedBoard Qwiic. You can use a USB cable connected to your computer or a separate power supply if required.
Breadboard or soldering tools (optional): Depending on your circuit design, you might need a breadboard or soldering tools to connect the components.
I bought SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic, tried on a PC, but it isn’t detected. I installed the proper drivers, but nothing happens. IN device manager I can only see a COM3 port with a alert but nothing happens if I plug the SparkFun RedBoard Qwiic
