qwiic shim for raspberry pi hookup requirements

Hi,

i have a pi 0 with no header pins that i want to connect qwiic sensors to. I need to conserve height in the overall project or i’d solder on the header pins and friction fit the shim as indicated in the hookup guide. So my question is, do i need to run wires to both 5v pins on the shim or is one of the 5v holes redundant or not connected? if only one is needed, is it the top pin closest to the sd slot or is it the middle pin?

Both 5V holes are connected together, you can use either one, or both if you wish.

if it was me and unless the height was really limited I would solder just a limited number of header pins solder on the shim and cut off the excess parts of the pins.

Beat to fit, paint to match
