Would someone please send me a link that explains exactly how to restore the original firmware to my ESP8266 shield. Please assume I’m a real beginner.

Hi, thanks for writing in.
I regret to say that SFE does not have a well written document entailing the firmware uploading process, primarily because I believe we got our ESP8266 modules pre-loaded with firmware. Uploading firmware is not part of the production process I am afraid.
