Hello all,
I just want to make sure I understand the differences between the ID-12 and the ID-20.
The ID-12 is cheaper by $5, and has a lower power consumption. Other than that, the ID-20 is superior in every other way, right? If $5 is not an object and the power consumption is no concern, would there be any reason to chose the ID-12 over the ID-20?
Thanks.
Brian
Hi,
Good question. It is actually something that I have made a video discussing. If you would like to learn more about the ID2, ID12, and ID20 modules, please take a few minutes to check out our video. We power them up, and range test each unit in a real world environment. We have it hosted on the Sparkfun Youtube channel here http://www.youtube.com/user/sparkfun?bl … ioDBOOAFvM
Basically the ID12 is a great unit, and preforms fairly comparably to the ID20. I would imagine that you would be happy with either. The range is slightly better with the 20. But the 12 works well too. Check out the video, you’ll likely be able to make a decision after watching that.
Thanks,
Tim
