I have a pair of Postcards with Portability Shields and SiK radios. In order to find a precise position for a temporary base I would like to log 24 hours worth of data at the base location. I can place the Postcard in Rover mode, enable logging to the microSD card and select PPP logging which, I assume, logs the decimated RTCM data which I will send, after converting to RINEX, to NRCAN CSRS-PPP. I would like to know if, under the Rover GNSS Messages menu item, it is necessary to have any of these turned on or is it permissible to have them all set to 0? Will selection of PPP logging turn on the required RTCM messages to be logged? Thankyou.

Docs are here. I have not run zero NMEA sentences, but I believe all you need is RTCM. Unless you have a requirement that isn’t mentioned, I recommend using the ‘PPP logging defaults’ as this will leave NMEA in place which can help humans edit/trim logs because we can read NMEA whereas binary RTCM gets far harder.
Thanks for your reply. I did use the PPP logging defaults. The file that I retrieved yesterday has about 24 hours of NMEA sentences only with no RTCM looking data and the GGA is every half second so not decimated. The file name starts out with 2078. I’ve obviously done something wrong in the way I have started the logging for PPP. Is there a proper sequence of menu operations to get the PPP file to record properly?
How many active messages does it says you have active?
You could try resetting to defaults (option 10) and then go back after saving and re-enable PPP logging, then confirm/save/exit and re-confirm by viewing the active message number again (should be 7 + 4)
RTCM is binary so it should appear as a bunch of gibberish. I recommend running the system for a minute or two and confirm the file is being created correctly before leaving for the duration.
