RTK Facet GNSS Receiver

Hi Team,

We recently purchased the SparkFun RTK Facet GNSS Receiver (GPS-19984). We have completed the setup and installation as instructed in the user manual.

To validate the device, we walked across a ground while carrying the RTK device and extracted the walking track using SW Maps (mobile application). However, when we uploaded the recorded track into Google Earth for verification, the results were not as expected. Although we walked along the center of the ground, the track appears offset by approximately 2 meters toward the side.

Could you please advise if there are any additional setup steps required? Also, is there a recommended method to verify the accuracy of the track collected from the RTK device?

Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Image registration is highly variable.

You’d want to use control points to align positions captured vs imagery.

For confirming position measurements compare data vs survey markers.

Walk the exact same path multiple times, your tracks should end up very close to one another. Forget matching your tracks to the images in google maps/earth, they will rarely match up exactly.
