It took a bit to get my RTK Reference Station up and running. Setup v4.1 of the firmware, but it didn’t like to change configuration over the WiFi interface. Serial and Ethernet worked fine. Sometimes when it boots now, it fails to start in base mode and displays the last 4 digits of the MAC as 0000 when this happens. The unit then goes into “Rover” mode, if I switch it back from Rover mode to Base, it then starts Base mode fine. Are other folks seeing this? I don’t have the console output handy for when this happens. Will try to capture it in the future, but the unit is outdoors in a somewhat remote location.
Below is what RTK2GO is reporting about my mount point. Is it normal for QZSS to be indicated as “no.” Does the rest of the summary look correct? I have already used corrections from the mount point and they “seem” to be fine. Just looking to double check my configuration.
Also, I have attached a picture of my setup. Mounted the antenna to a a 2" galvanized pipe cap with some threaded rod, nuts, etc. Neatly allowed me to add this to an existing mast.

This is most certainly not normal behavior. If you can capture any of the output logs, that would be helpful. I understand the pain of gathering that info from a remote location - I am sorry! If there’s anything specific about your setup you can provide, we can try to replicate the issue.

Yes. Unless you are in Japan, you will not receive signal from the QZSS constellation.
Thanks for the reply and validation of my configuration.

Will get out there with a laptop and USB cable in the next day or two to collect the debugging output. Will add that log data to this thread when I have it. There is nothing unique about the installation. I saw the boot issue both on the bench and out in the field so it isn’t an issue with the power out there.
I just wanted to make you aware that a couple of users have run into RAM issues on the Reference Station recently. I’m not sure if the 0000 issue is RAM related, but it’s a possibility. Links attached below.
Thanks for pointing those out Paul. I had some earlier issues that brought my attention to those posts and memory issues. I have turned of Bluetooth to minimize memory usage. Nothing else seemed to apply. However, I took all the tips to reduce memory usage into consideration from those threads. Hard to believe it has a memory issue when we cold boot but you never know…
