Hi all,
My problem is very similar to the thread started by Jaki.
I have a SAMD21 Mini Breakout board (Product# 13664) purchased recently from SparkFun. The usb connection does not show up in Device Manager or Arduino IDE. I’ve tried several cables with a desktop and a laptop without success. I have an Arduino Nano 33 IOT that is recognized with same cables on both desktop and laptop.
Before powering the board, I soldered a 10 pin 2X5 header to the Mini to debug with a J-Link Mini EDU programmer. When I connect the board with USB to Windows 10, the red led is on solid. When first tried, the blue led flickered on and off randomly. Now, it stays off. A double reset has no effect. I can program the board using the debug interface and programmer with PlatformIO. I refreshed the boot loader but it seems to have made no difference except maybe the blue led.
The USB interface is slightly misaligned on the board. Don’t know if you can see it in the picture or if it is significant. I checked the USB interface voltage on both boards when connected and found the data lines on the Mini are near zero volts and the ID line has ~3 volts. I verified data line continuity between the processor and the USB interface.
Do the D+/D- data lines need a minimum voltage level to be recognized by Windows?
