I have one question about lte_cat_m1_shield_sara-r4, I’m referring to sparkfun schematic and I wanted to ask about SARA VCC voltage, I see that SARA in that schematic is hooked to 3.3V from AP7361C-33FGE but there is a note that SARA VCC goes from 3.2-4.2V, and that can only be true if the module is connected to VIN, before linear regulator, right?
Could anyone please confirm this?
Thanks, cheers.
The allowable voltage range for powering the SARA module is between 3.2 and 4.2 volts and since we already need 3.3 volts for Qwiic devices, that’s a convenient place to grab power at a voltage the SARA module will be happy with. It doesn’t matter where power is applied to the shield, it always gets regulated down to 3.3 volts before heading to the SARA module.
Thank you, so 3.3V will be sufficient for LTE M1 mode.
