Can I get a schematic for the

SWG-14658

SparkFun USB Thumb Drive?

My intention is to write data to it, then open it up and modify it so that it becomes read-only.

The PCB is

BTW, the controller is an ALCOR MICRO

AU6989SNCS-TA

but it’s got 24 leads, but when I look for datasheets online, they show the AU6989 as 48 leads, so I’m baffled.

The Manufacturer hasn’t supplied us with one :frowning:

I was able to find out that, although the 48-lead version of the AU6989 has a write-protect lead,

the 24-pin packaging of the AU6989 that’s in the $5 sparkfun usb flash drive does NOT have the write-protect lead.

So, dead end.

It’s not possible to hardware hack the sparkfun usb flash drive to read-only.
