i wish to send a mechanical file of my PCB layout to our mechanical CAD guy,.
do you know how to do this?
our CADSTAR guy just left
Just a guess, but you probably export is as a DXF file. Most mechanical CAD programs should be able to import that. IDF would give you a 3D model. It’s probably in the CADSTAR documentation.
Turn on exactly what you want to see in the DXF then print it to DXF.
File\Export is far too long winded for what you need.
CADSTAR does not have IDF output without 3rd party add ons.
