SF Acconneer Radar XM125 A121 can't connect (error 'recv timeout') :(

Help! I connected this on windows with USB, installed acconeer explorer, installed the USB device drivers multiple times, flashed the acconeer firmware to the sensor successfully. I manually set baud rate to 115200 and also tried auto. Swopped multiple USB cables just in case. Tried everything. Nothing working. It sees the sensor board on com4 or whichever, but it cannot connect. The same error for two days now: ‘Failed to connect: recv timeout’.

So I gave up on the sparkfun integrated USB connection, and connected it via a usb-to-uart breakout board which I know works with another sensor. Again it can see the connection on com3 etc. Again it was able to flash the firmware to the A121 sensor. Again it cannot actually connect. Same error: ‘Failed to connect: recv timeout’.

I’ve read the other forum topics on this same error. None of them have any solutions that work for me. What’s going on?

Do you have a different pc/laptop you can test with it?

I don’t unfortunately. However a colleague got theirs working. Not sure what was different.

However they have found that the response of the sensor seems to be delayed by 0.5s. I don’t know exactly what their software set up is, but is there an obvious reason or setting that would cause this?

if there are any long delays in the read/write cycles, or if it’s just not being read often enough…it’s generally something in the code
