Solar Panel and USB Battery Pack

I am using a USB Power Pack to power a PICAXE datalogger (the logger records data 24/7). I’m wondering if I can charge the power pack with a 5v solar panel at the same time my PICAXE is drawing power from it.

That way I wouldn’t have to get multiple batteries and I wouldn’t have to bring the power pack in everyday to recharge the battery.

That depends entirely on your battery pack. Most shut the output off when you’re charging.

If you can find one that turn off the output when a charger is present, you’re golden. :slight_smile: If it does shut off, you’re going to need to find a different battery pack.
