Sparkfun Cellular Shield and Arduino Uno problem

Hello,

I am new here and fairly new to Arduinos. I purchased this shield fro Sparkfun: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9607

I have the shield connected to my Uno and I have a red power light on the shield. I have a Rogers SIM card inserted.

I was expecting some problems later, but I can’t even get past the first step. When I upload the Cellular Shield Passthrough sketch and open the serial monitor, I just get the following:

Starting SM5100B Communication…

Try setting the serial monitor to 115200 baud then restart

The original message will be rubbish but the commands from the sm5100B should now be readable

now set the baud rate on the sm5100B to 9600
