SparkFun Inventor's Kit - v4.1: Motor Basics

Hello everybody,

we are pupils who just started working with the SparkFun Inventor’s Kit (KIT - 15267) for a school project.

For the past days, we followed the instructions for the Motor Basics of the SparkFun Inventor’s Kit Version 4.1.

Unfortunately, it is not working even after we checked several cables for hours.

Can you please check the wiring? The LEDs are blinking when we upload the code.

Do you have any ideas about what we can do to make the motors work?

Does the motor still not work if you use another power source with the barrel jack (7V-15V)?

The motor still not work if we use another power source, e.g. a batterie pack.

Do you have any other similar-sized DC motors that you can swap out for the current motor? This will help determine if it is the motor or the motor driver board.

Dear Mr. Williams,

thank you so much for your response!

In the meantime, we have solved the issue!

We didn’t know that we need to set the motor speed in the serial monitor.

However, now it works!

With best regards

That’s great to hear! Thank you for sharing. Best of luck in your electronic endeavors!
