I have tried on countless occasions to join the #sparkfun irc channel. It keeps replying that I’m “banned”. I really don’t understand why this is happening as I’m able to join many other IRC channels. I’m a customer of Sparkfun and would really like to know what is going on. I’m hoping that its just something simple that I’ve overlooked. Can someone help me here?

Try to connect again, and if you can’t, message me [davidc__] on freenode, and I’ll take a look. It might be blowback from trying to shutdown a bunch of spambots. Also - the sparkfun channel requires a nickname registered with NickServ - is your nick regged?

I believe it is registered. I don’t use IRC much so I’m having a little difficulty understanding all the lingo and procedures. I use a program called “Linkinus” that runs on OSX. Any guidance there would be helpful. I’m sure we’ll work this out, with something I’m doing wrong in the end…
