SparkFun Mono Audio Amp Breakout - TPA2005D1 question

I am using your SparkFun Mono Audio Amp Breakout - TPA2005D1 in a project that requires both a speaker and headphones. Right now my circuit goes from the Mono Audio Amp Breakout to both a switching headphone jack and a speaker so that when headphones are plugged in, no sound is heard from the speaker. Right now it works exactly like it is supposed to.

My question is, should I output to a headphone jack/headphones through this amp? It currently works fine but I noticed that in the Quickstart information for the amp it says “The amplifier’s output is only designed to be connected to something with a coil (a speaker or magnetic transducer). Since the output is not a true analog signal, you shouldn’t expect to use this board as a preamplifier, etc.”.

Does that mean I shouldn’t attach the amp to my headphone jack?

Thanks

Headphones (at least the run-of-the-mill ones) are just small speakers, so they should be fine.
