SparkFun QWIIC MicroPressure (MPR) shows incorrect values after some time

Hello,

I wanted to use the SEN-16476 MicroPressure to detect the water level inside my freshwater tank. For that I connected a tube to the MPR and put the tube in the tank. This worked well, but after a day I pulled out the tube, but the MPR Sensor did not showed the correct values. After some investigations, I found out that it took him around 1 hour to show the correct environmental pressure again.

Is the MPR only usable for short term pressure? If so, please add that to the documentation, as this prevents me from using it in this way. If not, please help me fixing this issue!

Thanks

Martin

That sounds like a problem with the humidity – most likely condensation inside the sensor.

The humidity will be 100% inside the tubing, and condensation will build up in any location where the water tank temperature is higher than the local temperature.

Is there any way to prevent that?

Can I do something to avoid that or is that sensor unable to do long term water level measurement.

By the way the test was done at room temperature (around 20°C).
