Hey, I’m trying to set up the wireless joystick kit for a class project and I’ve been having trouble for a week or so. The problem I am having is that when I plug the joystick into the computer via micro-USB it is not being detected, even as an unidentified device. The USB port is still sending power as the light turns on and the battery is being charged but the computer doesn’t detect the joystick at all. The port itself is fine as I have been able to use it to upload code to an Arduino and program the XBee. I tried 3 different micro-USB cords and the same result, tried downloading drivers directly, and have spent the last week or so googling what could be the issue. It would save me a lot of pain if someone can help lol, thanks!

Try double clicking the reset button and see if the computer sees the board then. I think that will drop you into bootloader mode and that should allow the computer to see the board. If not, make sure your USB cables are data cables, some are power only and only work for phone charging.
Hello I’m Bryce’s teacher. I tried a new cord and double pressed the reset button. So now I am able to get the board to register that it’s plugged into the computer but i’m getting an error that it can’t install the driver. I’ve tried to manually install and choose the driver provided on the sparkfun github page but it won’t seem to accept it. It doesn’t like that it’s a 32bit driver and not 64bit. Any more ideas??
Windows 10 should auto-detect it; there might be something interfering with permissions - run through these steps https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/sa … -need-them and ensure that you complete each install/run step by right-clicking the file and choosing “run as administrator” and see how that goes? (also reset button x2 afterward, mentioned above)
After it IS detected, here’s the rest of the setup https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/wi … 1643964608
