STEAM Camp Advice related to power supply

I will be helping at a STEAM camp doing some sewing and electronics. I am contemplating using USB batteries, although I can certainly switch to AA batteries. USB would provide 5 V, unlike the 3 V of the AAs.

One item in question is a vibration motor. I have seen ROB-08449. This calls for 3 V instead of 5 V. I can envision using COM-00526 to drop the voltage, or making a simple transistor limiter, but I am unsure of the current drive needed by the motor.

I am also looking for a simple buzzer. I have so far only seen piezo elements, whereas I want a component/module that would buzz on application of a DC voltage. Are there such components on SparkFun?

Thank you.

I am unsure of the current drive needed by the motor.

There’s a datasheet for the motor under the Documents’ tab which lists a max current of 60 mA. The 3.3V regulator will probably work well if you have a nice 5 volt supply for it.

Thank you. I don’t know how I missed the data sheet.
