I’m attempting to use the sparkfun easy driver (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/12779 … 1611854406) with the ROB-09238 stepper motor (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/9238? … 1611854406). I have followed the hook up guide and gone through some of the troubleshooting posts but I still cannot get my motor to spin. My power supply is an old laptop charger and it says it provides enough current and voltage. I have double checked what I can with my multimeter. I also went through and double checked the resistances on my 4 motor wires to make sure I had coil A and coil B separated correctly. I am attempting to use the example code. Everything seems to be getting voltage but my stepper will not spin when I upload the code onto the arduino uno I am using (powered independently with all grounds common). I feel it vibrate or seemingly tense up but it does not do that for the amount of time I have specified in the code. I have also verified that the stepper draws amperage through the coil wires so I don’t have a short anywhere from my soldering. What are some other troubleshooting tips I can try?
You might need to adjust the current the board is supplying to your motor, if it’s set too low the motor won’t run smoothly or at all. Start with the lowest current setting and slowly turn it up until the motor is working well.
