SMS using the GE865 Evaluation Kit
I can receive SMS messages but have not been able to send an sms message using “text” mode.
Here is the AT commands I am using via HyperTerminal:
AT+CNMI=2,2,2,1,0
+CSMS: 0,1,1,1
+CPMS: “SM”,8,25,“SM”,8,25,“SM”,8,25
+CMGF: 1
+CSDH: 0
+CSCA: +12063130004,145 “SMS service number for T-Mobile”
+SMSMODE: 0
+CMEE: 0
AT+CSAS
Here is what I get:
at+cmgs=“+8585551212”
hello
+CMS ERROR: 500
I use just 4 simple commands to get a text message out:
AT#BND=1
AT+CSCA=+12063130004,145
AT+CMGF=1
AT+CMGS=40404
You should use this terminal program to help you get things up and running.
Hi Ryan,
I first performed an AT&F to clear memory and then entered your suggested AT commands.
I am still getting a “+CMS ERROR: 500” after I hit “CTRL Z”
The Round Solutions terinal program is very cool…
Any other suggestions??

I Highly recommend that you purchase a “Salea” Logic Anaylizer.
Not only does it give you the ability to record serial transmissions to and from the TeLit
But also decode’s the bytes for you. It Literally changed everything for me …
