Supplying too much voltage to

Hi,

I’ve bought the SEN-14262 Sound Detector board.

I’ve accidentally connected the VCC pin to 12V, instead of 5V. Could it be that this destroyed the board?

Now that I connect it to 5V (and ground of course) and read the ENVELOPE pin value in an Arduino analog pin, I simply get noise values (65-80 out of 1023), that have nothing to do with the noise level in the room.

The on-board LED also doesn’t seem to react to hand claps, music, voice, etc.

Thanks, I hope someone knows this board well enough to estimate if 12V would fry some circuitry inside.

Joel

12 volts would definitely have fried it unfortunately. :frowning:
