I have an OBD-II UART Board I’d like to use directly with a Pi. Is there anything I should be wary of swapping the pullup from 5V to 3.3V? According to the STN1110 datasheet both should be acceptable for UART pullup.
As a side note - a jumper to configure 3.3V or 5V pullup would be awesome on future revisions!
Should be fine; from our guide: “The STN1110 is the main controller chip on the board. This communicates with the CAN, ISO and J1850 transceivers. Voltage on the board is regulated to both 5V and 3.3V for all of the components to function properly. The board is powered from the DB9 connector.”
