TI/Chipcon CC1101 board design - 868 MHz

Hello,

Thanks! You might want to consider using this original PA from TI.com: http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/cc1190.html

I will be making a PCB for this, very very soon!

TI.com will be releasing their own PCB that includes CC1101 and CC1190 on-board in a few days (so they say), so you might want to wait for it. It will be 4-layers though, but I will be using just 2 layers for my version, and I will be using Johanson’s RF baluns designed for the CC1101.

Regards,

Muris

Muris:
Thanks for the info stevech. Have you used these chipcon modules before?

Yes, but I quickly moved back to Digi’s. Firmware with lots of features off the shelf. Often, no added microprocessor needed. XBeeXSC is 900MHz. If you’re in No. America. Else you are stuck with 868MHz and just one or two channels. And 3 or so module vendors make 868MHz 802.15.4.

Hi,

thanks for the hint!

I tried the tip form tvelliott an used the callulator and came out to 67 mil!!  (different cause of 868MHz and 1mm FR4)

Well this is really thick! Should I use this also between the C and L in the baluns??

Felix
