TRF-2.4g Continuous transmission help needed

I’m working on a project using three TRF-2.4g moudules to send a large amount of information (about 4/5 of capacity using two channels) in one direction, and a very small amount of information back. The datasheet is unspecific on whether Direct Mode transmissions are continuous or just very long packet-length restricted. I’m looking for some help from people who have used the modules in the past for similar projects to answer a couple of questions:

1.) If the Direct Mode is continuous, can the module be interrupted to switch to receive while in Direct Mode? If not continuous, can it be interrupted in this fashion before the packet is complete, or do you have to let the whole packet finish before switching over?

2.) If Direct Mode is packet-based, must the module enter standby after every packet is completed, and then be pulled back from standby after delay, basically adding about 200 us to the transmit time for each packet. In the same vein, do you have to wait the 200 us when switching between transmission and receiving?

Thanks for any help you can give me.
