I am working with the Tsunami Super WAV Trigger, and I’m using it to play 4 tracks simultaneously. Each of the tracks are wav files of the exact same length and I am starting them by doing a TRACK_LOAD and RESUME_ALL_SYNC.
All four tracks are routed out of mono channel 0 (or audio out 1 on the PCB).
Periodically, I am hearing a stutter in the audio that lasts about a second and the status LED blinks rapidly at the same time.
Do these symptoms indicate anything specific that may be happening?
By periodic, do you mean at regular intervals, or is it random? Is it always in the same spot in the audio? Does it ever play completely through the length of the tracks without this happening?
Depending on your answers, my first thought is that your microSD card is one that is not optimal for audio streaming. Please have a look at the “microSD” tab on the robertsonics website for more info. Have you tried a different card?
I can’t be sure if it’s always at the same interval. I’m running a simple looped 4-bar, 4 track song. It’s just a test song I created for development.
I was thinking I’d go back in and add some unique tone or audio sample at the start of each measure in the song. That might give me a clue as to when the the stutter is happening.
Regarding the microSD card, I have not tried a different card, yet. The one I am using is a 2GB Class 10 card, but I don’t see any markings that would tell me whether or not it’s a UHS card. I don’t think it is, but I cannot prove it isn’t.
BTW - Any chance you are working on a 12-track Synced Set option? The long term plan for this is to play 12 tracks simultaneously, split across 3 outputs. I can accomplish that via UART, but the Synced Set trigger to kick off the tracks would be super.
