tweet a message when airplane fly by

Hi,

I am thinking of my first arduino project. I am living near to military airbase and everyday except sunday they run training and fly above our neighbourhood. it is so noisy that it interrupts family conversation over the dinner. i want to send tweet message whenever plane (F15/F16 and C130 types of plane) pass by. it is very easy to do sound processing part on software side. how will be my set up be hardware side? sound detector/wifi module

Can you list products in sparkfun so I can make one stop purchase?

Thanks a lot

Regards

Can’t you even be bothered to use the search box of the webshop to filter products? Give it a try yourself and report them. I’m sure people will be willing to comment on the pro’s and con’s of your choices and give corrections.

I too live near a base.

What irritates the HELL out of me is that the testosterone-driven jet-jocks needlessly turn on the afterburners shortly after takeoff. They take off and fly 2 minutes to the coast and on out to Navy ships offshore.

A LOT of people calling and writing the military Public Affairs Office (PAO) will get temporary relief, esp. of you show abuse of use of afterburners, flying too low, etc.

Tweeting won’t help.

tweeting is a way to lodge a campaign. if i can make 500 followers, that can voice out. i tried to record it in stopwatch to get some statistics but having a tweet stream would be convincing.

I have put order for audio detector/arduino red. i will start with usd mode and add ethernet shield later.

Um… was the base built AFTER your house? If not, then it’s really YOUR fault for moving next to it. That noise you hear, is the sound of freedom…
