Venus GPS - Headung without Moving

Hi,

I want to buy the Venus GPShttp://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=9133. I read the Information about the NMEA for the communication between Arduino and GPS. I read that the GPS shows me my Heading. Is that right?

If yes, is it possible to see a heading when I am not moving, because I will put it into an rc boat, and I can be very slow sometimes?

Do I have to place the GPS to certain direction?

Hi Philipp,

GPS is showing heading (COG) only. This is heading between positions. So when you are not moving the

GPS heading is not useful, you will need magnetic heading or even beter but much more expensive gyro.

Also GPS speed has a error till even 40% when you are moving very slow.
