Ok, I’m about to submit a board, DRC bot says everything is good, I’ve carefully reviewed all of the Gerber files in Viewplot, all looks good. My question is this: there IS a dimension line around the board, which Viewplot displays, however, the lower left corner of the board is displaced from viewplot’s origin crosshair. Should I be concerned about that? Also, even though I have checked Eagle’s DRC entry “Check fonts”, it does not report proportional fonts. Is there a way to verify that all fonts are vector?
Any hints, or warnings would be appreciated…, I can’t afford to do this again. Thanks!
I’ve only used Viewplot once, so take this for what it’s worth (probably not much).
I noticed the same offset from the origin location in Viewplot. I figured that it just didn’t like having the gerber data run all the way to the edge of the design area. The board dimensions when multiplied together matched up with the area calculation from the DRC bot, so I submitted the design as-is. The boards I got back were fine.
Does the area calculation from the DRC bot match up with what you see in Eagle?
Everything lines up properly, so after taking a look with both Viewmate and gerbv, I’ve decided not to worry about it. Thanks for the response…, nice to have some confirmation from others.
