New to this so I’m learning.

I’m building a robot that will wonder around outside or in the house and I want to setup a base unit for charging the battery.

I like the robot to find it’s way back to the base so it can recharge on it’s own.

I understand GPS for outside will not be good enough to get an exact location.

Can I use wirless so the robot can find it’s way back to the base? Any suggestions?

read about how Roomba finds its home charging station.

My approach would be to for home to send a low power RF beacon w/ID code on 433MHz, then when the robot got within line of sight, it would use infrared coded signals emitted by the home to do the final docking.
