Xbee Arduino mega

I want to make wireless communication between Arduino mega 2560 board and xbee pro s2c modules. Modules I have only 2 problems.

  1. The uart outputs of the explorer modules used for uart and usb communication with xbee’s correspond to the sma end of my Xbee. God, when I put the antenna on the explorer, the uart pins get bent. Nobody will use it. Anyway, if I reverse solder these uart pins will it give it to the board?

  2. Many examples on the internet now with Arduino uno. They talked about the FTDI issue, and everyone was using uno. Does anyone program Xbee using hardware serial pins on mega now? Is it possible to output Uart to Mega with Explorer uart outputs? Since I have burned an antenna before, I cannot try it with such an example.

If you have a little room up top, a header extension might be the path of least resistance:

You could put the headers on the bottom of the board.
