Xbee PC and in use other

I want to use one Xbee as coordinator connected to a PC by the USB adapter sold by Sparkfun. That same Xbee, I want to connect to a PicMicro.

Can I use both connections?

Do I have to shutdown, through a switch, one when the other connection is in use?

More details:

I’m setting up a burglar-alarm system.

One Xbee as end device in de barn.

One Xbee as end device in the living-room.

With my question I can decide to buy 1 or 2 Xbees for my workroom.

Through the PC I can set time/date in de barn and other stuff, that needs a change now and then.

Through the PicMicro it’s a alarm function.

Both the PC and a PIC could receive data from the XBee serial DOUT line at the same time but both could not send without some logic.

Why have the PIC connect to both the XBee and the PC and use it to pass data between the XBee and the PC?
