doggone it, I’ve done it but can’t remember how, other than with the XBee dev kit motherboard card, there’s a well documented (user manual) procedure to press and hold a button while applying power or some such.
It’s no doubt on Digi’s website. And I think I read here on Sparkfun recently that someone did it without a dev kit module. So search away.
There is a restore button on the Modem Configuration tab of the X-CTU software. I have never used it, but it’s worth a try.
