2 layer PCB doubt . Pls Help !

Hi guys,

I need some help. I am desigining a double sided PCB for the first time. I have one doubt that can I connect a track(in top layer) to a pad in top layer? Are the top and bottom pads connected ? Because the top pads are not soldered how it will be connected to component pin (say an IC Pin).

 Thanks in advance.

First you didn’t say the pads are for through hole. I assume they are, because other wise you wouldn’t need to connect them.

If you are having the board made through BatchPCB the top and bottom pads will be connected with a through hole plating.

I hope this answers your question,

Thanks for quick rply !

Yes the boards are through hole type.

Yo continue james’ point a bit farther. If you are making the board yourself, no, you won’t have PTHs.

Also…there are places that do not plate through as well…if your using “some other service” you need to ask them.
