I was looking at this crystal that seems perfect for my microcontroller
http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=8581
but the datasheet I downloaded says
1.2 Frequency : 14.7456 MHz
1.3 Mode Of Oscillation : Fundamental
So it is the datasheet of a 14.7456MHz crystal. My question is:
does also this 24MHz crystal have a fundamental mode of oscillation?
It’s a fundamental 24 MHz crystal, because the load capacitance is stated. Overtone crystals are intended for series operation and don’t have a load capacitor.

Can SparkFun get 26MHz SMD Crystals? They are used for Chipcon CC1101 RF modems and I don’t know where to get them…?
Farnell and Rapid Electronics stock them.

Great, Rapid Electronics has them for 0.3 pounds. Delivery costs are 27 pounds, which is dumb as hell. They can put them in an envelope, but nooo, it has to be freakin’ 27 pounds…
Farnell will ship them with costs of 90 EUR to Bosnia, that’s about 140 USD for shipping.
I think I have to move…
I’ve got some I can send you, if I can find them. I bought them from Rapid.
I found them, I’ve got six (ACT320SMX-4). They are very small - 3.2 mm x 2.5 mm.

Hi,
I can change my PCB layout to fit these Crystals, so it is not a problem… Great!
I have sampled 5 Crystals 3x5mm yesterday and I will see what will happen. If I don’t get them you are the only option for me
Thank you very much in advance!!!
I am building this thing:

I’ve gotten free samples from Fox Electronics before, no problem.

Thanks… will try this if I don’t get them from ACT.
Regards!
