3W RGB-LED board with driver and PWM input

Hi,

I would like to suggest a 3W RGB-LED board. The board would be a single sided metal core PCB (for thermal management) with holes for mounting to a base or cooler and would contain a driver circuit which would be channel-PWMable with 3.3-5V levels. It would accept ~5-25V as input supply.

This board would make integrating power RGB-LEDs into Arduino projects very easy. There would be endless applications.

Suitable low cost power-LED driver ICs with PWM in are e.g. SN3550 or BP1361.

I think you should fab it and demonstrate its greatness to convince Sparkfun to make it. Ive seen that carrying a suggestion into fruition does more to see that project become a product at Sparkfun. This sounds like a nifty idea you got.

Unfortunately I have no experience in designing metal core PCBs nor fab resources for those…
