434Mhz tx and rx - 2400 or 4800 baud setting

I am about to buy the 434Mhz transmitter and receiver:

tx: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=8946

rx: http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/produc … ts_id=8950

The rx is specified to be able to work on 4800bps, the tx on 2400 and 4800. It’s not clear to me how to select one of the 2 baudrates this tx supports. Also the datasheet is not clear about this

Anyone used these before and can share experiences?

Actually the RF modules don’t know anything about baud rates. Look at the Electronical Characteristics on the Receiver data sheet. The data rate is spec’ed as 300 to 8k bps.

It will be the digital devices on each end that determine the baud rate.

Do note that this uses ASK, or OOK, modulation. Look up Manchester encoding for encoding schemes.

Thank you for your reply!
