hi everyone! my project is air pollution detector. it will detect conc. of different harmful gases and displays its values on lcd. In the datasheet of mq7, carbon mono oxide gas sensor, it is written that it requires 48 hours of preheating. i didn’t understand, do we have to preheat the sensor for 48 hours every time i want to take reading? and also how to caliberate the sensor ?Please help me regarding this if anyone has done a project related to this. thank you.
Interpreting the datasheet, at first start up you should wait 48 hours. After that you can take readings every 60 seconds at high voltage(5V) and every 90 seconds at low voltage(1.5V).
The OP may also want to look for articles/posts/etc on the sister sensors. Their operation is similar.
