Accessing pins via poke-home connectors with the ESP32 Thing Plus DMX to LED Shield

Hello!
I am wondering what pins from the Thing Plus you can actually access from the poke-home connectors of the ESP32 Dmx to LED shield. According to the website (SparkFun ESP32 DMX to LED Shield - SparkFun Learn) there should be a correspondence between those connectors and some pins that could allow you to use them differently than for controlling a LED strip. In my project, I was trying to attach a button to one of those pins but I couldn’t get it working, so I used my continuity tester to find out that none is really connected to any pins of the Thing Plus board. Am I missing something? Thank you!

Three of them are. (according to this gif anyway, but read my later post)

Yes, I am working with this corresponding table and schematics, but I can’t get it to work. And there is no circuit continuity at all between D2 in the shield and D27 in the board, nor between C0, C1 and C2 (shield) and GPIO5 (SCK shield), etc.

I would double check that the esp32 is fully seated…maybe share a photo of the setup

To be clear, were you checking continuity using the bottom side blobs? They make it somewhat simple

Just looked at the schematic, there’s a logic level converter in between the connectors and board pins that is not shown in the gif above.

This board might not work for you, at least not without supplying 3.3 and 5 volt power.
