Hi,
According to the data sheet (https://www.u-blox.com/sites/default/fi … 207%29.pdf), the M9N supports both active and passive antennas.
Cheers,
Adam
Hi harris_rn - yes the SparkFun NEO-M9N is designed to support active antennas. We, SparkFun, carry a number of patch antennas, and in case you need a suggestion this is one of my favorites:

…if you need a long cord:

Don’t use a passive antenna because that would introduce a short to ground. Hope that helps!
Hi wonder_boom,
I just wanted to double-check that passive antennas wouldn’t actually work with this receiver. It looks like you’re using the[ same active antenna circuit as the SparkFun GPS-RTK2 (ZED-F9P) and I’m able to use a Maxtena M1516HCT-P-SMA passive antenna with this board. Granted, I had to check directly with Maxtena that the DC bias wouldn’t be an issue, but otherwise, it appears to work just fine.

Can I use this antenna:

with the Sparkfun NEO-M9N, U.FL (Qwiic)?
I’m currently using it with the RTK2 board (ZED-F9P).

Yes definitely. =)
