ADPS 9960 Initializes but does not output gestures

I am using the ADPS 9960 breakout board, sparkfun part number 12787.

I have it hooked up as shown in the hookup guide. I am using an arduino due which runs on 3.3V, and I am using the GestureTest example from sparkfun.

When I run the code the sensor is initialized but I dont see any results(up,down, left or right)

I bought a few adps 9960 boards and I tried two and both had the same problem.

Any ideas what could be going wrong?

I noticed that your hands are moving slow in the video. Do any slower motions help?

Unfortunately not. I’ve done a good five minutes of waving at different speeds and distances and no luck

You might try experimenting with different speeds of moving your hand and different distances between your hand and the sensor. In my experience, these seem to be pretty picky about getting those correct.

Another thing, try different lighting and see if that helps. Sunlight and some LED or florescent lighting might cause issues.

Do you see a dim red light coming out of the sensor? When I have mine powered on it emits a small red light. if it’s not on, it’s not getting power.

Also, do you have it wired up correctly? I had no success connecting to the advised A4 and A5 pins of the guides I was following. When I wired the SDA and SCL from the 9960 to the SDA and SCL pins on my arduino board it worked straight away. The board I’m using is the nRF52832 feather.
