Advanced Circuits, SFE Eagle CAM File, and drill troubles

Hey, anybody else having trouble as of the last couple of weeks getting FreeDFM from Advanced Circuits to accept gerbers from Sparkfun’s Eagle CAM file?

This maybe came in with the Eagle 5.11.0 update, but the gerbers look fine when I review them with a couple of different gerber viewers (including GCPrevue) but when I submit them to FreeDFM the drill file is totally wrong: the sizes of the holes are correct but the spacing between holes are far too large!

I’ve been trying to debug this for a while now, and I’m starting to think it’s AC’s problem, not mine. Anybody have an idea?

Go into the eagle.def file and find the [excellon] section.

What are the ResX and ResY values?

You may want to peruse this thread:

viewtopic.php?t=1350

as you may be having issues with either the ResX/Y values or with the issue of leading and/or trailing zeros in the drd file.

Looks like ResX and ResY are 10000 in both 5.11.0 and in previous versions that were working fine.

Drd files that have been used to produce actual boards look identical to the ones I am trying to submit in terms of lead/trail 0’s.

I’ll read the thread you linked though. Thanks for the help.

FreeDFM periodically has problems showing Eagle Drill files because of the format used. Advanced Circuits and every other fab house I’ve used correctly sorts it out despite the FreeDFM report.
