AMS AS7263 INT_T settings to replicate factory calibration settings

I am using your Sparkfun module with the AMS AS7263 to estimate the output (microwatt/cm2) from a 860nm light source. Page 11 of the AMS data sheet , Figure 12, Optical Characteristics shows typical counts of 35 per microwatt/cm2 with accuracy of +/- 12% per Note 3, provided that, as stated in Note2 , GAIN = 16x and integration time, INT_T, is 166ms.

My question is: How do I set the INT_T to 166ms to replicate the AMS stated test settings? INT_T = 166 ms seems to be an unavailable setting if INT_T = (an unsigned 8-bit integer) x 2.8ms, as given in the data sheet on Page 24. I did not find any helpful information on the AMS website. Thank you.

The integration time multiplier should be about 59. If you look at the data sheet, the internal RC clock is not very accurate, so “2.8 ms” is an approximate figure. And, as you will see, there will be considerable statistical variation in the counts at low light levels.

In any case, given the large uncertainty stated for the sensitivity factor (+/- 12%) , you should calibrate your device against a more accurate light level meter.
