Any update on on the L-Band Stand Alone Receiver

https://www.sparkfun.com/products/19390

I saw the Facet L-Band was released but what about the stand alone D9S break out board?

Thanks

Bruce

Howdy Bruce!

We have a board ready but we’re having a very hard time getting the NEO-D9S. For now, the RTK Facet L-Band is getting priority. Also, without u-blox’s explicit L-Band PointPerfect support for non-corporate users, a user would have a very tough time.

Hey sparky

What is advantage of also having the NEO-DS9?

Thank you!

Hey sparky

Ignore my last message as I just watched the product video. Unfortunately I’m located in Canada so its not for me yet… that being said is the service proprietary to just ublox? Or would the neo be able to connect to other Lband services if there out there?

Thank you!

There are multiple L-Band correction services which the D9S will work with but you need to change the configuration of the D9S based on the service provider requirements.

PS I has no issue signing up for the service but I have not provisioned it because I do not have the board to provision it with. But as my application is for vehicle usagie I want to use SparkFun GNSS-RTK Dead Reckoning Breakout - ZED-F9K (Qwiic) not the F9P to improve positional awareness in GNSS contested environments (in cities and so on).

Thanks

Any possibility of releasing the footprint of the NEO-D9S breakout board so I can prepare for the usage in a future application in the mean time use NTRIP via cellular?

That would be helpful for when the product becomes available.

Yep! The NEO-D9S footprint was added to our open source library (https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun-Eagle-Libraries) back in February: https://github.com/sparkfun/SparkFun-Ea … cc0e140ce1

Oh, sorry, you mean the outline of the board. I’ll see what we can do. It’s still WIP more or less so it may change.

FYI, Adrusimple starts selling in July: https://www.ardusimple.com/product/poin … r-neo-d9s/

I know those folks! Good people.

I’m not surprised by the big warning: “This product requires approval by u-blox.” That’s also why we are hesitant, and the fact that NEO-D9S modules are on a 40 week lead time.

I has no issue signing up for the service

ThingStream is super easy to sign up for, but L-Band is not included and has to be obtained after your account is created via u-blox sales person. Out of curiosity, were you able to get L-Band activated for your ThingStream account? We had to jump through a lot of hoops but that was a few months ago.

Do you know of any services currently available over the frequencies compatible with the NEO-D9S (1525 - 1559 MHz)? I am only aware of u-blox PointPerfect at this time.

I got approval.

Tersstar is 1545 mhz, Omnistar is 1545 range. Potentially atlas. There are multiple alternatives.

Thanks
