Arduino and MP3 player...

Well I am a complete newbie to Ardunio and to be honest I don’t even own one yet. I have done a fair bit of programing in school so am not new to it but I have never used Ardunio.

My idea…

I was looking at buying an Arduino and the MP3 player shield as an easy MP3 player. From looking at the code it uses 5 of the analog inputs. I was hoping to build in 10 (hopefully more) different switches each one firing different tracks. So button one would fire track 1 and button 10 would fire track 10. Ideally I would like the tracks to be stored on a USB thumb drive and I am sure it is not too difficult to change the wiring from the SD slot to wire it up to a USB that would be on the side of the project box.

Is it possible?

Any advice I would love to get as I have never worked with Arduino before and am hoping that this would be an easy build.
