I am currently working on a posthetic hand project and i am unable to choose between the various arduino board options. I have to do a bit of signal processing (EMG). i have to drive around 5 motors etc. pls suggest. Will a basic uno board be enough or should i go in for a higher version.
Depends on what you mean by “higher version”. Most Arduino boards have the same basic core and only differ from number of I/O pins.
The Due is the only board with a significant difference in processor. It is based on a ARM core, but still considered a microcontroller.
You might need to better explain what you mean by “a bit of signal processing.”
