I’m trying to reprogram a MakeyMakey board using Arduino IDE. Following this guide https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/ma … nced-guide , I’ve gotten MakeyMakey added to the list of boards, but I can not get usb ports recognized in Arduino. I installed FTDIUSBSerialDriver_v2_3.dmg and still have not had any luck. I’m running OSX 10.11.2 and using Arduino 1.6.7. Could any one offer any suggestions on how to get usb components to show up under serial ports?
I’m not sure if its significant, but I also have an iPad plugged into my macbook and it is not showing up either (not sure if Arduino would recognize this).
Thanks!
Since you stated that in your last statement, I did read that the OS wouldn’t release the ports. The solution that was said to work was to shut down and unplug, then replug and boot.
I’ve rebooted a few times and have tried having it plugged in before starting back up. Had no luck with that either unfortunately.
Were you able to arrive at a solution?
I’m having a similar problem on OSX El Capitan 10.11.5 using the FTDI Basic. I’ve tried Arduino 1.6.5 and 1.6.9 but neither will show anything but /dev/cu.Bluetooth-Incoming-Port
I’ve gone through this following guide to no avail. http://www.ftdichip.com/Support/Documen … AC_OSX.pdf
In the /dev directory I don’t see any FTDI references. Although when I run the system profiler, I do see a FT232R USB UART when the FTDI Basic is plugged in.
